Our client is a forward-thinking blue chip that is a highly profitable PE backed organisation, seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead their finance function. This role is critical to ensuring the financial health and stability of the organisation while driving strategic growth initiatives and operational excellence both locally and internationally.
The CFO is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Finance function, working closely with the CEO, executive leadership team (ELT) and board to implement strategic direction. This position oversees all financial aspects of the group, ensuring robust financial controls, accurate financial planning and analysis, comprehensive accounting, detailed business/operational reporting, taxation, and statutory reporting, as well as risk and governance management. Key responsibilities include: Hands on, as well as leading and directing finance resources to maintain the short and long-term financial health of the business. Identifying and implementing systems, policies, and processes to improve financial monitoring, reporting, and accountability.
- Contributing to strategic planning and aligning financial strategies with organisational goals. Managing financial operations including payroll, invoicing, accounts payable, and receivable. Preparing board reports and reporting packs Providing financial and analytical support to the executive leadership team. Developing strong relationships with key stakeholders and maintaining effective communication.
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications, skills, and attributes:
- CA or
- CPA qualification essential; MBA or tertiary qualification in accounting or business-related subject preferred.
- Minimum of
- 5-10+ years of experience in a financial controlling role within commerce and industry or Senior Manager to Director level from Big 4 or top 10
- CA firm.
- Relevant industry experience in the services sector is desirable.
- Proven experience in financial and management reporting as well as system implementation experience. Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPS, Pivot Tables) and proficiency in the Microsoft suite.
- Demonstrated experience in a Finance Management capacity, managing a medium-sized organisation's accounting, tax, and statutory compliance requirements.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence across multiple stakeholder groups. Self-starter with exceptional attention to detail and a can-do attitude.
