Head of Finance

An Osaka-based investment holding group professionalising day-to-day finance operations while group strategy sits with the Finance Director / CFO.

Lead accounting, monthly and annual close, tax coordination, treasury, financial reporting, budgeting support, internal controls and the finance team.

• Oversee day-to-day accounting, AR, AP, fixed assets, accruals and investment accounting
• Own the monthly close timetable, balance sheet reconciliations and annual close / audit pack preparation
• Produce management reporting, budget-versus-actual and cash reporting
• Coordinate Japanese corporate, consumption and withholding tax with external advisers
• Manage bank accounts, payments, cash forecasting and controls
• Support subsidiary reporting and intercompany hygiene
• Allocate work, review outputs and develop finance team members
• The Candidate
• Around eight or more years of relevant accounting and finance experience
• Around three or more years of finance team leadership, supervisory or formal review responsibility
• Hands-on Japanese business finance experience and working knowledge of Japanese corporate tax
• Demonstrated ownership of monthly close and experience with annual close and external audit
• Advantageous: listed company or group finance; investment holding or investment accounting; SAP, Oracle, freee or Money Forward; English-language finance exposure

• Competitive package for Osaka (client stated band JPY 8m to 12m; market may need to flex for bilingual close leadership)
• Working Bullhorn package: AUD $107,000 total package (original PD band JPY 8m to 12m)
• Permanent full-time employment with three-month probation
